To coincide with our theme issue, Overpopulation Overconsumption we asked website visitors whether they thought specific population
policies would be necessary. (The survey ran from 7-14 October 1999.)
 
 
  1915 Unless the world introduces specific population policies (such as the one child family) the demand for food will soon outstrip supply
   1845 Specific population policies are unnecessary - food production globally will keep up with demands.
