Graphs showing risks help communication

Communication about risks is an increasingly important part of day to day clinical medicine. On p 749 Edwards et al describe a training package provided for general practice registrars and use focus group methods to explore their reactions to the use of different tools for communicating risks. Doctors found that having a range of risk tools available helped communication. Graphical presentation of information was favoured and has the potential to save consultation time.
