Exercise is the answer for stress incontinence

Urinary incontinence is a common condition in women, causing withdrawal from physical activities and reduction in quality of life. The most common type of urinary incontinence in women is genuine stress incontinence, with pregnancy and childbirth being the main cause. On p 487 Bø et al report the results of a 6 month comparison of the three most commonly recommended conservative treatments---pelvic floor exercises, electrical stimulation, and vaginal cones---in over 100 women with stress incontinence. Pelvic floor exercises were superior to the other methods in increasing strength of the pelvic floor muscles and reducing leakage; they were also well tolerated and had no side effects.
