Correction

Punishment of doctors must fit their crime

An authors' error occurred in this letter by J F Goodwin and W Somerville (18 April, p 1248). At the hearing the parents, both in their evidence and through their counsel, accused Dr Taylor not only of having acted without consent but also of actually having proceeded against their (allegedly previously expressed) wish. This part of their action, however, failed (contrary to the statement made in Goodwin and Somerville's letter).
