Roche stops selling isotretinoin in US: Roche has stopped making and distributing isotretinoin (Roaccutane), its treatment for severe acne, in the United States, saying that the drugs market share there had fallen to below 5% since the drug came off patent. US juries have awarded at least $33m (£20m;
24m) in damages to users who blamed the drug for bowel disease. The drug has also been linked to birth defects and depression. Roche has defended the drugs safety.
India decriminalises homosexuality: The Delhi High Court has decriminalised consensual sex between same sex adults in India, ruling on a petition from health and gay rights activists that had challenged the countrys 149 year old law making homosexual activity a criminal offence.
