Doctors still most trusted profession: Doctors are still the professionals that the UK public trust most, according to an Ipsos MORI survey commissioned by the Royal College of Physicians. The annual poll indicates that nine in 10 adults say that they trust doctors to tell the truth, making doctors the most trusted profession. They were closely followed by teachers (86%), professors (78%), judges (78%), and clergy (73%).

Too few women having mastectomy offered simultaneous reconstruction: Only one in 10 women with breast cancer is getting access to reconstruction surgery at the time of their mastectomy, says a report for the Healthcare Commission. This is despite recommendations from the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence in 2002 that it should be available to all.
