EDITOR—Life is all that matters to me.¹ I would not likeit shortened even by a second. As a medical student, I haveseen people who said brave things about dignity, but when themoment has come, they changed their minds—they didn'twant to die. Neither do I.

I am willing to suffer. I know what pain is. Please, dear doctors,do not take these painful moments of life from me. Do anythingyou can. Do prolong my life. It may be painful, but it is allI have.
