Company defends "campaign to `counter' BMJ claims"

EDITOR---We disagree with the conclusions of Moynihan in his news item on our company's so called campaign to counter claims made in his education and debate article on female sexual dysfunction. 1 2

We are a full service communications company specialising in life science and healthcare communications and manage a wide variety of communications programmes to high ethical standards. These programmes include awareness campaigns to support recruitment of potential participants into clinical trials. These trials are governed by strict ethical and regulatory guidelines and our campaigns are developed and managed in accordance with them.

We agree with the BMJ in publishing Moynihan's article, which has been useful in highlighting the wide variety of views held by many women and their physicians on female sexual dysfunction. We note that three weeks after the article was published more than 40 authors with views different from those in the article had sent electronic responses . . . [Full text of this article]
