Emad M El-Omar - UK
Emad El-Omar is professor of gastroenterology at Aberdeen University and honorary consultant physician at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. He qualified from Glasgow University in 1988 and obtained his clinical and research training in Glasgow, Vanderbilt University in Nashville and the National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, Maryland, USA. He took up the chair of gastroenterology in Aberdeen University in 2000. His research interests include upper GI cancer, microbially induced inflammation in the GI tract and colorectal neoplasia. He is editor in Chief of Gut and fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
