    EDITOR,--C J Todd and colleagues report that antithrombotic prophylaxis significantly reduces the incidence of fatal pulmonary embolism.1 From their remarks in their results section, I assume that their diagnoses of fatal pulmonary embolism were made at postmortem examination.
