    EDITOR,--Eric B Rimm and colleagues' findings1 are in line with those of a large cohort study conducted in Japan. The lifestyles of 265118 adults aged 40 and over (122261 men; 142857 women) in six prefectures (Miyagi, Aichi, Osaka, Hyogo, Okayama, and Kagoshima) were studied.
