    EDITOR,—We were encouraged to read Joe Wilton's description of the progress made in including general practice as part of the preregistration year at St Mary's Hospital Medical School.1 His results confirm that general practice provides many educational opportunities, including increased clinical activities and longer teaching times compared with those for house officers based in hospitals.
