    EDITOR,—Mervyn Rosenberg's letter betrays some important misunderstandings about the role of the BMA and its craft committees. Certainly a major role of the craft committees is to negotiate terms and conditions of service for their constituents, but this is by no means their only function. The Central Consultants and Specialists Committee, for example, represents the views and interests of senior hospital doctors on a much wider range of issues that have nothing to do with terms of employment. …
